Benzocaine: local anesthetic - blocks initiation and conduction of nerve impulses by blocking the Na+ channels; AMPA-Na channel blocker anesthetic blocks initation and conduction of nerve impulses by blocking the Na+ channels
Lidocaine: local anesthetic and used to treat acute and chronic pain, shingles pain - similar mechanism of action to Benzocaine
Tetracaine: local anesthetic and neuropathic pain - similar mechanism of action to Benzocaine
